Craniosacral Therapy

CranioSacral Therapy (CST) is a gentle, hands-on approach that releases restrictions  in the body to relieve pain and dysfunction and improve whole-body health and wellness.   This modality listens to the inner wisdom of the client, and allows the clients body to show where release needs to happen, whether it be on a physical, emotional, or spiritual level.  It was pioneered and developed by Osteopathic Physician John E. Upledger after years of clinical testing and research at Michigan State University where he served as professor of biomechanics.

Using a soft touch which is generally no greater than 5 grams – about the weight of a nickel – practitioners release restrictions and holding patterns in the soft tissues that surround the central nervous system and throughout the body. CST is increasingly used as a preventive health measure for its ability to bolster resistance to disease, and it's effective for a wide range of medical problems associated with pain and dysfunction. (description from Upledger institute), and is a great treatment for putting the body back into balance.

"I had the great privilege of working with Danielle throughout my pregnancy. I was new to the craniosacral therapy so I didn't know what to expect. I came to her with pain in the center of my back, on both sides of my spine. After four sessions I had a significant emotional release that allowed the pain to dissipate. I also came away with tools for how to continually clear out that area of my body, which I discovered is where I hold a lot of emotion and stress. I am grateful because instead of just having temporary relief I have a stronger sense of how to better take care of myself." - Danielle W
